Madeline E. Wellner

Madeline Elaine Wellner, 86, of La PorteCity, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.  She was born January 8, 1927, in La PorteCity, the daughter of Floyd and Bernice Robb Friedly. She married Edward Wellner on October 31, 1945, in Virginia.

She worked for 18 years as a Ward Secretary for St.FrancisHospital in Waterloo, retiring in 1987.

She is survived by her husband Edward of La Porte City; two sons, Richard (Judy) Wellner of Louisville, TN, Randy (Karen) Wellner of La Porte City; three daughters, Teresa (Harold) Kamback of Jesup, Diane (Randy) Caldwell of Mt. Auburn, Lisa (Michael) Chase of Maquoketa; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Don (LaVonne) Friedly of Waterloo and two sisters, Neva Nerge of Sumner and Corrine (Al) Potter of Torrence, CA.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Alan and Paul Friedly and two sisters, Netha Pries and Marge Neisen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a private family inurnment to be held at a later date in the West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
