Hawkins’ Happenings – August 28, 2013

By Jolene Kronschnabel

Enjoy popcorn, games, and the movie Super Buddies on Thursday, August 29, at 1:15 PM.  Watch the fur fly as a new breed of super hero is born. This would be a dandy way to spend an early out from school.

The library will be closed on Monday, September 2, for Labor Day. Plan ahead for the holiday and pick up extra books and movies for the long weekend.

Story Time for preschoolers begins on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 10:30 AM, when children will learn about using their library. Youngsters are invited to Preschool Story Time each week for stories, activities, and crafts on Thursday mornings during the school year. Stop in the library and register your preschooler for this free and fun program.

Summer Reading Art Show projects can be picked up at the library. Thank you to the artists who were gracious enough to share your artistic work. Our patrons marveled at your creativity. The art show will be displayed until the end of August.

Remember we serve coffee to patrons visiting us on Monday mornings at 8 AM. When you drop in you can chat, pick out a great read, and have a cup of joe with us.
