Neil – 25

  Shane and Carrie Neil of La Porte City are observing their 25th wedding anniversary.
Shane Neil and Carrie Schmitz were married October 19, 1991, at the La Porte City Golf Club.
Shane Neil is a Community Service Technician for Black Hills Energy in Newton. Carrie is an Accounts Receivable Assistant at Martin Brothers in Cedar Falls. They also own Flying Eye Psychol Circus in La Porte City.
Their family includes one daughter, Paige and Tucker Johnson of Omaha, NE and one son, Vincent of La Porte City, as well as one grandson Karsen Neil also of La Porte City.

Shepard – 50

  Henry and Meri Kay (Miller) Shepard of rural La Porte City will mark their 50th wedding anniversary with an Open House on Saturday, October 15 from 11 AM to 2 PM at Veterans Memorial Hall, 302 Cedar Street in La Porte City. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the milestone with the couple.

Harvey – 60

  Tom and Joanne Harvey of La Porte City are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Thomas Robinson Harvey and Joanne Franklin Kelly were united in marriage Friday, July 13, 1956 in Germantown, Pennsylvania. They have four children: Thomas Roger (Lori), Steven Kelly (Lori), Nancy Jo and Patricia Ann Harvey-Harahap; seven grandchildren: Craig (Dezerae), Hannah, Sara, Matt, Amelia, Elise and Norah; and two great grandchildren: Jakson and Odin.

50th Anniversary…Oops 51!

Dave Neil and Vi Holliday were married June 26, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
They have two children Melanie Neil of Madison, WI, and Shane (Carrie) Neil of La Porte City.
They have grandchildren: Logan Miller, Paige (Tucker) Johnson, Colton Miller, Morgan Miller and Vincent Neil. Two great grandchildren join the family, Harlan Miller and Karsen Neil.
Dave is retired from John Deere, UAW, and as State Labor Commissioner and is presently La Porte City Mayor. Vi is a homemaker.

Jackson – 50

Jerry and Donna Jackson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an Open House hosted by their children.
Jerry Jackson and Donna Sparks were married April 16, 1966 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Jerry retired from John Deere in 1996.
Their family includes a son Jeffrey, and fiancée Steph Heerkes of La Porte City and their family Ashley, Emily, Bailey and Noah, and a daughter Jolyn and Tim Holman of La Porte City and their children, Jordan and Hannah.
The Open House will be Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 2-4 PM at Veterans Memorial Hall, 302 Cedar Street, La Porte City.
No invitations are being sent and no gifts requested.
